Un hilo de voz / A thread of Voice
This project is a thread that traces the textile histories of immigrants in the borough of Queens, in New York. It broadly asks what knowledge and materialities women carry when migrating to this country and what life they take on in their new home. It is an exercise in spinning, in finding points of connection between the “here” and the “there,” and thus drawing a line that can link with others until a tissue is formed.
